Kenneth Damato, President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Damato founded Midawi Holdings Incorporated (MHI) in 2009 to take on the growing challenge of financial literacy among youth and adults, utilizing his entrepreneurial and management experience to lead the company. MHI is developing a web based product to integrate financial, education, and communication tools for today's family. The company's mission is to improve financial literacy using a secure, engaging suite of online tools that are immediately practical and relevant for the users.
Prior to founding MHI, Mr. Damato was the Managing Director of Intrepid Capital Partners, based out of Wayne, Pennsylvania where he was responsible for setting and driving the strategic direction for several portfolio companies that span a variety of vertical business units. He was also responsible for working with the Board of Directors to pursue strategic investment opportunities
Previously, Mr. Damato served on the Crimson Investment Team as the Chief Operating Officer of one of their Holding Companies, the Tyden Group. Mr. Damato's past roles include Sr. Vice President Americas at American Standard's Bath and Kitchen Business, Vice President, Global Business Development at American Standard's Trane Commercial Systems business and Vice President Marketing at GE Lighting. Mr. Damato graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree in marketing and business administration.
Gary Levine – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Levine is the Chief Financial Officer with more than 25 years’ experience providing accounting, tax and financial planning services to individuals and businesses. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Non-Profit Connection (NPC), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing back-office financial support services exclusively to other non-profit entities. Prior to founding NPC, Mr. Levine was Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Bostwick Laboratories, a pre-IPO cancer testing laboratory based in Richmond, Virginia. In his role, he was responsible for setting and driving business strategy, as well as directing all aspects of the company's financial infrastructure, including analysis, planning, reporting, risk management, revenue growth and compliance to company policies and procedures. During his tenure he prepared the company for an IPO, partnered with sales to increase revenue from $85M to $150M and increased profit margins from 8% to 15%.
Prior to joining Bostwick Laboratories, Mr. Levine was Vice President of Accounting & Finance at Medco Health Solutions, the nation's largest Pharmaceutical Benefit manager. While at Medco he was responsible for managing a $500M operating budget and $150M capital budget. Prior to this, Mr. Levine served in various positions with Nabisco Foods Group. He advanced through a series of financial management positions with increased responsibility and accountability culminating in the position of Senior Director of Finance Operations representing $2B of food product sales, a $150M operating and $250M trade budgets. In addition he led the initial organization of the company's strategic sourcing function, where he led vendor negotiations of up to $100M. Mr. Levine started his career with Price Waterhouse Coopers, a "Big 4" public accounting firm.
A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA, Mr. Levine is Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.
Bill Reynolds, Chief Technology Officer
Bill Reynolds is the acting Chief Technology Officer of Midawi Holdings Inc., and brings over 15 years of Internet and software experience to the company. Reynolds is responsible for developing and implementing the technology vision to deliver innovative and successful internet offerings for MHI.
Mr. Reynolds is an experienced software entrepreneur focused on applying object oriented technologies to solutions for national security groups, the Fortune 500, and others worldwide. He is the founder and CTO of Promia, Inc. For over 15 years he has led the development of 5 US Department of Defense network security projects. Prior to Promia he founded Synergistic Software, Inc., a pioneer in applying object oriented technologies for enterprises including many of the Fortune 500. There Reynolds led the development of 6 software products including the first object-oriented libraries for distributed Smalltalk and the first portable SQL database libraries. He subsequently wrote the first object-oriented report writer for enterprises which was re-licensed by 2 leading software vendors including ParcPlace Systems, the Xerox PARC spinoff chartered to commercialize object technologies.
Mr. Reynolds also previously worked for the advanced technology group within Accenture and at IBM. He is a patent holder, earned a BS in Computer Engineering from Lehigh University and brings a wealth of website development and advanced technology experience to Midawi Holdings.
Sarah Whitney, Chief Administrative Officer
Ms. Whitney is the Chief Administrative Officer at Midawi Holdings Incorporated (MHI), and brings 20 years of cross-functional Operational and Process Design/Management experience to MHI. Prior to joining MHI, Ms. Whitney was a private consultant providing clients with Operations Management and Process Improvement expertise. She focused on private equity / privately held companies preparing or undergoing large operational changes, and supported industries in the Transportation, Clean Energy and Consumer Goods sectors.
Ms. Whitney was with American Standard from 2002 to 2006 in various roles including VP Commercial Operations at American Standard's Bath and Kitchen Business where she had responsibility for Pricing, SOIP Demand Forecasting, Organizational Design and Process Improvement. Ms. Whitney also served as the Sales & Distribution Six Sigma Leader for American Standard's Trane Commercial Systems Business delivering substantial savings and benefits to the organization.
Before joining American Standard, Ms. Whitney was with GE Lighting leading Strategic Business Programs in e-Commerce, Marketing and Technology. Her background also includes working in the Paper and Chemical Industries managing large scale environmental projects for multinational businesses.
Ms. Whitney is a graduate of the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, and is both Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Black Belt certified.
